Well Andy was better than Donald though that's not saying much. The standard of play was painful to watch. At least it was relatively easy.
There is plenty you could criticise but I don't think it is that important. Andy rarely plays well inless he is pushed and the important thing was to get through without using up too much energy.
Poor match but the most important aspect was that Andy got it done in under 2 hours. He went straight onto the practice court afterwards to work on his serve. More ominously though was the way Nadal was playing in despatching Muller with the minimum of fuss( Muller was actually playing well ).
Still seems to have been a pretty crappy match and yes Andy's form can be variable but I'd certainly like him to have had average better form than he has so far this tournament.
Re yea old serve, having taken a lot off his 1st serve against Lopez ( average 107 mph ) and got a 75% first serve in rate, he certainly was going for it again today ( average 119 mph ), but first serve in % was down to 47% and broken 3 times in a pretty short match by the errror strewn Young. The way he's serving, I'd certainly say Isner is his preferred QF opponent. And just got to get better than that for any later rounds.
Anyway Isner and Simon having a nice long match, 1 set all, Isner 6 - 5 * in 3rd. Do really want that match completed today though. The ideal for Andy would be that it is and the top half quarter finals aren't.

Really feel for winners of Isner/Simon and Roddick/Ferrer. Both pairs of players are evenly matched and were bound to have long matches. And then the next day, they're supposed to go play Nadal or Murray? Ouch.

I'm not sure I do... Be that as it may, Isner (28) has just beaten Simon (12) by 7-6(2) 3-6 7-6(2) 7-6(4) in 3 hours & 38 minutes!
