Great for Andy to get the title but shame to see Djokovic retire, would've preferred to have seen a more completive match - would've been better prep for the US Open for Andy...
Yes, actually pity in some ways, because Andy could do with all the competitive matchplay he can get and trading blows with Djokovic could only do him good, but after that non overhead and being broken a second time, it was inevitable he was retiring.
Good timing too, it's now pouring with rain !

Djokovic did of course go all the way last week in Montreal, winning the final then again getting to the final here in tough conditions.
With a bit of rest and if he fairly quickly gets that shoulder right, Djokovic is going to be a formidable competitor at the US Open, and the guy to beat.
Pretty happy with how Andy has progressed this week, and that was a decent performance in the final and generally good consistent controlled aggresion, just occasionally looking as if he just getting keeping it going and Djokovic pounces on that all day.
Winning 7 out of 8 Masters finals is rather good Now if he could get anything like that ratio going in Slam finals...

According to http://live-tennis.eu/race you currently need 4840 points for World Tour Finals qualification. Andy needs 110 more points which he would achieve by reaching the 4th round of US Open and adding 180.
Well done Andy for winning another Masters title. The conditions in Cincinnati are often brutal and in this instance, I suspect Andy benefited from Mardy Fish and Novak contesting the final the previous week. I wasn't that impressed by the standard of Andy's tennis but it has compared very favourably with that of his opponents.
