RE: (AM.com) bubble gap competition - cincinnati - Deadline 4pm Mon 15th

Sure he can - it'll cost him some herring and a bucket of dried kelp though.

Anyway where was I....

janeInScotland takes pole position from Linda, while Ace pips Genbrit by one thousandth of a second for 3rd.

Manaus & Yorkie make up the third row of the grid and the top 8 is rounded off by Oscar  and somebody last seen climbing out of the window of the Croydon branch of Boots carrying a new lippy and a bottle of Lucozade who the police would like to help them with their enquiries.

(Now I realise that this probably isn't as funny as the last time I posted it (ok it wasn't funny the first time I posted it) but cazza was late getting her entry in and I'm doing my best to save the forest one branch at a time!)

In our case, it's mainly terrible puns on opponents' names - the worse the better. wink

It seems our automated method of keeping out undesirables is working: wink

Drewziph: "tried logging in to the BT forums . Cant see threads when logged in tho. am i awaiting activation? or just failing? :p"

hfwardhouse: "I'm having problems too - I signed up using FF just now and it won't let me see anything :("

No, seriously,  don't know what's gone wrong for them - I can only guess that it's Activeboard (the thing this board is hosted on) being randomly obstructive, as it has a tendency to be from time to time. The good news is that when it does that, it usually corrects itself within a few hours.

Hey guys, I just had a look at the problem. Think it is just a stupid activeboard glitch again....should be working in the next couple of hours

That might be a good idea if there are going to be FTM's etc posted here as well.

Anyway on to the action - and there is action for the 1st time since Wimby as Linda passes janeInScotland on the giveusourforumback corner

There's probably no point in creating a separate section if the AMers are likely to have their own forum again fairly soon. Threads can be moved between sections, I think, so we could always leave it as it is for a couple of weeks and then create a new section and move the AM competition threads if we look like being a temporary home for them for longer than expected.

So glad that we've got our bubble gap comp! Thanks rondun! Hoping I do really badly in this one as I based my guess on a loss in the quarters!

J - I meant the chart of the Bracket results. Sorry it was probably rather confusing of me to post about the Bracket in the Bubble Gap thread.

Who am the best?

Ah yes, well, so rondun pulls of the overtake of the season to tke the lead of the race just ahead of looter99 and Oscar.

James and Yorkie are in neck and neck battle for 4th while Manaus drops a place to 6th.

Sallydaisy climbs 4 places as Genbrit, Ace, Linda and JaneinScotland head for the pits.

(but fingers crossed that it'll be Claire bear leading the race this time tomorrow!)

Will I maintain my 100% record - that's the most important question surely?

And where's the woollen mill???

Uh-oh
Fraid you lost your 100% record in Montreal - you can see all the scorers in the montreal bubble gap thread :sofa:

And the woolen mill is in the 1st post of this thread...or at least it should be.

So jane's engine explodes half way down the straight and Linda serves a drive through penalty for speeding in the pit lane just as the leaders come in for their routine pit stops.

Claire Bear has been driving like a demon to take the lead from jacobite who is also up 11 places on his grid position.

Sallydaisy is currently in 3rd ahead of JAMES & rondun.

Hfwardhouse makes to the end of the straight before cazza emerges from her pit stop to take 6th

[and as I'm writing this just have to take a break tosay wow what a rally to break to go 4-3 up against novak]

And Michael rounds of the top 10 behind Oscar and Yorkie
