AM.com forum closed down.

Jane, do you happen to know the passcode for the am.com group TFF dreamteam.  I have set up a thread on the temporary forum

http://andymurray.forumotion.com/

Thanks.

Cazza - its a different one every time.  One of us has to go on, create 2 full teams and then create the group.  I'll do it now if that's helpful.

btw: I'm really shocked/annoyed/disappointed at the way we've been treated & inclined not to show Andy any support from now on.  However I'll still set up the am.com dream team (though maybe it should be am.com R.I.P ).

Done   Slight change in name: am.commers & the group's entry password is:

d17fb9c90721b1996a1e760e220f66d7

btw I can change the team's name if folks want a different one.

jis

PS  Cazza - please can you post for me on http://andymurray.forumotion.com/  I've tried several times to register and am continually failing the 5-6 character "human" test.  I'm human - but can't prove it - very depressing :(

What I want to post is that, for pick'em, am.com and jm.org teams should be allowed to continue and each person in jm.org should choose when and where they move as jm.org loses members (if it does - maybe not - it's nothing to do with the websites - who thinks it is?)  Team jm,.org may retain, even gain members if Jamie progresses in the rankings - who knows?  Maybe Jamie's team changes its name - but the team name doesn't have to be linked to a website.

I'm puzzled as to why the new "Admin" want to disband/disappear/absorb/take-over the jm.org team into the am.com team.  Is it important?  Surely not given the demise of sites and need to keep interest, develop alternatives/...  Can't they let us choose for ourselves?

Can you/someone explain?

jis

Jane - don't worry, I've already decided that you're going to be allowed to choose for yourself in BOTB. I think that's the best option (for as long as the JMs can continue to turn out full teams of 5 or more, anyway) - while I was at first sight prepared to accept a request for the teams to be merged, since it became obvious that at least some of the JMers did want to stay in a separate team, I've been intending to leave both options on the entry form, with changes to the links and minor changes to the names.

Thanks Steven - good call.

We did set up a poll, in the temp tent, to give people chance to express their views and thus far 12 have voted with 3 for staying with jm.org as a separate team and 9 preferring to have a combined team.  Obviously, not everyone has found us or been able to register so for now it's definitely best to keep all options open.

Hi Janeinscotland - sorry to hear you're having problems registering at the temporary AndyMurray forum.Capttchkas can be frustrating (it took me a couple of goes) but they're part of the spammer defences so are best left in place.

If you are still having trouble please could you PM me in this forum?

I'll see what I can do to help you rejoin us.  I've noticed we have a new member called JaneDeborah so perhaps you've succeeded after all?

If it isn't you, and Cazza hasn't already posted your request, I'll it in for you so that your views are made known to the other forum members and your team-mates in jm.org.

P.S.  do you need help with anything else?  The Bubble Gap comp is now in the temp forum so do you need us to paste in predictions for you?

hi Daisy/sally - thanks for acknowledging my post & for posting my comments on the temp-site.

I am not JaneDeborah - but hope she enjoys & is enjoyed on the forum :)

I probably will need help posting for the Bubble Gap comp (if I can come up with a number)  - I assume if I (& others) post it on here in time it'll be accepted.

Just got back from holiday and to say I'm staggered is to put it mildly! As one of the founder members of this forum - back in the days when it was the Andrew Murray message board - it was always my first port of call, but I agree with Steven who early on in this thread suggested that the reason the Andy threads are so little supported on here, compared to earlier days, is because so many of us were also on AM.com and followed his matches on there.  Back in the days when we were all just following his Challenger matches on livescore the threads were pretty big.

19 might very well be the best option for Andy himself, and with a sportsman's earning life being so short that must be important,  but it has never been good for his fans. The official site has been, in my opinion, rubbish since they took over.

Good luck with setting up another home.

Thanks Madeline - and I see you've made it over to the temp tent .........

(and I agree with you ref XIX but had better be on my best diplomatic behaviour!!!)

For those of you who had joined us from time to time on the Andy Murray Fan Forum we offer apologies that it's been offline since around 4pm yesterday afternoon and might not be back for another 24hrs. Unfortunately, there's nothing we (forum Admins/Web Manager) can do about it but hope the technical support people can resolve the server issues that are causing the problem which we understand is a major one in web hosting terms.

Ah thanks Sally - thought there must be some sort of problem. Hope it can be resolved soon!
