Pardon me for intruding on the communal AM.com grief on this thread, Lynne, but when I noticed a poster with a Christian name spelt the same way as my own, I couldn't resist having a peak at her profile & lo & behold!  What do I find, but a fellow Teessider/Clevelander (albeit one from the "wrong" side of the river! wink  Sorry, but when I was born in Middlesbrough - in the same year as you, as it happens! disbelief - it was still part of the now-defunct North Riding of God's Own Country, so I'm a Yorkshirewoman first & an Englishwoman second!), though I've lived in London for the better part of 30 odd years.  I still, however, make several visits a year to the area (usually on Bank Holidays) to visit my ageing mama in Marton.

I can't claim to know Billingham well (used to go to the Forum every now & then when I was at school & relatives on my father's side used to live there), but I associate it most with visits to the dentist right up until my move down here (no idea why there & not somewhere more local & can't remember his name) & still have abiding memories of the mounting terror ( ) as the bus (in the days before I could drive) reached the other side of the Newport Bridge...

I had the problem you describe at first Steven, but it has cleared now 24 hours later, when I tried to re-register it said my memership was awaiting approval so I guess it's just a temporary glitch, keep trying Sam!!

Thanks for letting me know. Drewziph reports being able to log in ok too, so hopefully that means the temporary glitch has been solved by Activeboard - just as AMers have stopped trying to register, probably. Typical! wink

Hi guys

I am HoopGirl from AM.com.

Shocked and pretty disgusted at how we have been treated. AM.com has been a very important part of my life too.

I notice Aya tweeted Judy Murray to tell her about it.. maybe more of us should.

Feel a bit betrayed given that we just donated money to Tennis 4 Free etc - clealry we have had our uses!! But to give no reason or notice is appalling - esp for the moderators who

did huge amounts.

thanks to those of you letting us use your forum.

Only just found out about this! Gutted! Makes no sense to me. What a time to do it as well just when Andy is getting in form. Such a lot of info on that old site as well. What are we doing for our pick ems team???!!!!

The mods have set up a temporary forum at andymurray.forumotion.com. Over 50 of us have joined already and FTM is up and running on there. It did crash for a while this evening though as it is a free forum and can't cope with the traffic during a match. (Long time no see, Judith!)

Hi Hoopgirl and Wimbledonace and Minty!

We have indeed set up a temp 'home' whilst we ponder what to do for the best regarding a permanent one (which will cope with 'tourneys' and growing numbers).

Please come and join us - http://andymurray.forumotion.com/ - and we'll be glad to see you!

We will have a Team for BOTB for the USO and will speak with Steven about it being 1 only combined MurrayMen team rather than separate for Andy and Jamie as before. That'll probably mess up the stats .......... but as CountZero would have it "The Steven" will undoubtedly cope!

*whirr* *chug* *blows a Gasquet* you what?! disbelief

LOL, no that'll be fine, we'll merge them as team AM (since that's the one that's higher up in the overall BOTB rankings) but you can rename it and obviously I'll change the link to whatever is looking like your most likely new home by next weekend.

maybe some of us would rather be in a jm.org team than an am.com team?

I can't see any objection to keeping the teams split if that's what people prefer (and there are enough of you to fill both of them), after all it's not your fault you've shrunk from two forums to one.

each of can choose to change team, can't we - so no need for it to be forced on us - I'd like to stay with Jamie for now - but may move in time - and obviously if the team is stopped or has < 4 (or is it 5) members - but probably not to am.com.

PS embarrassed at how many edits I've had to do to sort out sense & typos :(

When editing, you can edit out the bit at the end regarding previous edits so you can always just be left with the last one.   Which is fortunate, otherwise I' might be a record breaker  biggrin
