I'm so ....... there's no words to describe how I feel about this. Having been member 87 on the original forum when it was just a little messageboard, I am bereft. am.com forum has been a constant in my life for years & to see what has happened to it, what it has been reduced to is just so sad.
Anyway, Hello to my friends from am.com. Braehead is still on which is fab news! I hope to meet many of you there.
If there is anything i can do to help re-instate the old forum or help to get the data from it (surely it still exists in some form?), let me know
Thank you so much to BT for making us nomads so welcome!
Mandiemoo previously known as Mandiemoo (handy, that!)
Talk about a really dumb move - They had a great community there...while there was arguing and disappointment when Murray lost they also did things that I am sure was appreciated by team Murray.
As an example remember his kitbag at Wimbledon - wasn't that inspired by AM.com? Also the supporters that have gone along to GB Davis Cup events?
Cutting off your nose to spite your face comes to mind.
I think 19 have probably wanted to do away with the forum for ages. First they made us non-official, then they didn't seem too helpful when there were problems with people not being able to access the forum. The mods worked their socks off to sort that one out. But if they didn't want to run it any more, they should have given us some notice of what was going to happen. Then we could have set something else up & told everyone where it was. It's awful that all the lovely blogs and everything are probably lost. And there will be people who only go on Andy's or Jamie's forum and don't go on any other forums or Twitter or anything else, who won't know how to find us. And there may be some people going to DC with the group who now can't get in contact.
Am.com was the first forum I ever joined (I was one of the first members of the original forum) and although I've joined others since, I've always felt that am.com was my home. I'd like to thank all the mods from am.com and jm.org for all the splendid work they've done over the years.
This was a disgraceful way to treat many fanatical fans, particularly the mods for their tremendous efforts over the years and of course the regular posters as it was a real community on there. to give us no warning whatsoever was just disgraceful but I agree that 19 just didn't seem that keen on the forum. I just wish we could at least all the memories back, but hopefully we will be able to archive at least some of the important stuff! However we won't take this lying down and shall regroup in some way I'm sure! Thanks a lot to BT for giving us a temporary home!

We are trying to set up a replacement for the am.com forum. Can anyone able to get access to archive hang onto their stuff and we'll let them know where it can go in due course.
This forum is probably the best one to be on at the moment - less political if you see what I mean. :)
Having had more reports of people who have registered in the last 24 hours being able to see the whole forum when they are not logged in but being unable to see anything useful (except the option to log out) once they are logged in, which means they are unable to post, I tried setting up a test account myself and ended up with the same problem.
The registrations definitely went through (you can see the people concerned in the list of new members on the Calendar tab and when they are logged in, they also appear on the list of logged in members at the bottom of some of the screens), so the problem must be a temporary Activeboard glitch.
Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about that as far as I know, but when they have problems like this, they usually clear within 24 hours.
I'll keep trying with the test account from time to time and let you know when I get in ok so that those of you having this problem know when it is worth trying again.
It seems like once you have got in once, you are ok from then on even if the glitch recurs.

Thanks Steven. SpeedyHawk is one of the ones that can't get in, but when she does she would like to post the FTM scores on here, if that is OK with you.
Edit - Speedy has now joined the new temporary forum andymurray.forumotion.com and is posting the FTM there.

I had the problem you describe at first Steven, but it has cleared now 24 hours later, when I tried to re-register it said my memership was awaiting approval so I guess it's just a temporary glitch, keep trying Sam!!
I was let in straight away when I registered just now, so presumably the glitch is cured.
Thankyou to Sally/Daisy for the e-mail, otherwise I would have got a bit of a shock when I tried to access the forum (having been very busy for the last two days!) The phrase "after careful consideration" really grates when they have closed it without any warning.
Many thanks to bt for giving us this space - I'll now go and have a look at the temporary forum.
