Steven would you mind if I continued the Cincinnati bubble gap comp in a new thread on here? I don't know how many people will see it but at least it might help my sanity!
Not at all - just start it as a thread in the AM section of the forum and once you've got something up, I'm more than happy to tweet a link to the temporary home so people who entered know where they can find the results - quite a few of AM.commers follow me and if some of them retweet it, I'm sure it'll end up being seen by a lot of your entrants.

Such a shame about the forum. Pleased to see you here though Daisy (aka SD) - I would like to thank you for all the work you had put into the old forum - I am so sorry it ended like it has.
And Rondun I look forward to keeping up with the Bubble Gap.
Thank you to everyone from there who are now here - I will miss it
Well, Steven has been kind enough to offer us a temporary 'corner' if need be and I'd like to take him up on that so we have somewhere to run the competitions we had going. You might see a bit more activity in the AndyMurray section ......
I was thinking, you could always take entries, etc, on twitter (or however people are keeping in touch) and just publish results here so that people don't have to register on this forum if they don't want to ... or even take over the threads for the Murray matches for a bit, not least because I get the impression that one of the reasons why the Murray match threads on her tend to be so sparse despite so many of us being fans is that quite a few people from here used to go over to AM.com for Andy's matches in much the same way that some AM.commers with a wider interest in GB tennis have been known to post here.
I don't think many people on here would want this to become AM.com mark 2 any more than you would want us to 'poach' AM.com members if you have any plans to get the AM forum back (or an AM.com Mk 2 forum up and running) - this forum has a far broader emphasis, which is probably why (unlike AM.com & MW, say), AM.com and BT have always got on pretty well instead of trying to compete with each other!
Equally, I hope nobody here will mind me offering some temporary space to Sally without asking around first when I don't actually run this place - it seemed like the decent thing to do for a friendly forum under the circumstances!
We're a very tolerant bunch, but (needless to say) if any of the AM.com trolls come and post here (something tells me they won't, they've probably crawled back into their MW holes by now, their job done), we won't be nearly as tolerant as the AM mods were.
Thanks Steven - and I'd hope that the likes of Drew and David (both of whom I've met at tennis events in the UK) and Madeline (a long time member on am.com) would concur.
I think I can promise that we won't be 'taking over' but just need a temporary space for the competition threads and perhaps to chat a bit more in tournament threads for those who are not on twitter/facebook.
Bit too early to say for definite where we'll go from here - but we are NOT giving up! The people who deliberately set out to bring down am.com are now openly crowing about it on twitter - and telling porkies to boot) They've no concept of the genuine upset they've caused so many other Andy fans.
Thanks again
Sallydaisy

Quick note to anyone setting up threads for ongoing AM.com competitions - please can you prefix the title with (AM.com) - it just seems like a good way to avoid people getting confused that they are new (BT) competitions being opened. Not a big problem if you forget, I can always go in and amend the title.

People are asking how to go about saving blogs etc that have seemingly disappeared for good - there is a way...
I actually have a complete copy of Smitty's Cincy blog if anybody is in touch with her. It was the last thing in my browser when the site went so I saved the page.
You can also see old pages if you google the title of a thread and then click on the "cached" bit. It will give you a look at how the page was when google trawled the page and you can save it from your browser.
I would encourage anybody to do this and save as much as we can - but do it quickly since the next time the google bots trawl the page it will be lost forever.
Another option is the "wayback machine" but I'm not sure how many pages it will have archived
It is a real shame I will miss all my friends on the forum. Hope something will come to replace it. Thanks to Steven for hostoing this and Drew for the twitter link. Do not feel so alone now.
Thanks to bt.net for helping us. Many of us are also on twitter - if anyone is thinking of looking on Twitter. I am linda4tennis and I have set up a list for am.com members on there.
Nice to see some familiar names here. I did so miss sharing the celebrations of Andy's win today. Silly really, but no-one else in the house is particularly interested and it was always good to see the cheering smilies!
Thanks Sally. I was Jan27 (only because there was another Jan although I never saw anything posted by her).
A huge thank you to you and all the others who did so much for the forum. I read it for ages before I finally plucked up the courage to join! I'd never done anything like that before!
Anyway, it's nice to have somewhere to type "Come on Andy"!
Jan
PS Thanks to all here for their welcome and hospitality!

Yoo hoo y'all........feel my sanity is returning a bit. What a shock to come home to after a wonderful holiday. Cpuldn't begin to imagine what it would be like if I couldn't communicate with the friends I've made on AM.com or share in following Andy's matches. Thanks to all here on BT.net - really grateful for the space :-]
