RE: Week 33 - ATP 1000 - Cincinnati, OH, USA - Hard

And he serves out to 30 to complete a  6 - 2  7 - 5  victory.

Wow, 2 wins on a hardcourt, he might be getting the hang of this, you never know could get quite good on such surfaces wink

Plays Ferrer or Simon in the quarter finals.

Yes, unlike some years in Cincinnati, Andy could do with every match he can get this week. for time on the court and hopefully steadily play himself into some form.

Don't forget Cinci was the scene of Andy's first Masters title win (in 2008). wink

Blimey!  It's just taken Rafa (2) three hours 37 minutes & 51 seconds to subdue Nando (unseeded) in three tie-breaks, 7-6(5) 6-7(4) 7-6(9)!

A bit of a slog for Giles, so hopefully will be to Andy's benefit.   Of course Andy still will want to step up a gear as Simon will still be a challenge.  Good that he had a more straightforward victory today even if he was a bit in and out in the 2nd.   Let's go Muzzah! biggrin

Strange - it looks right but actually clicking on it takes you to a different link to the one shown. Sometimes, I really despair of Activeboard and its quirks ... let's see if this one works any better: http://britishtennis.activeboard.com/t44518182/cincinnati-masters-qf-andy-murray-vs-gilles-simon/

Well, with 7 of the top 8 seeds through to the quarter finals and the other being the number 10 seed, the top players certainly seem to have rather more brought their A games to Cincinnati as opposed to Montreal where they brought their "eh ?"  games.
