Roger Rasheed to become Andy Murray's new coach (or not!)

"Separated from Gael Monfils who hired Patrick Chamagne, Roger Rasheed announced that he would be Andy Murray's new coach. The Australian, who spent three years with the French, was also Lleyton Hewitt's coach in the 2000s."

Interesting. Thoughts?

Assuming its legit, a good appointment, Rasheed was always going to find Monfils a difficult one to crack and does have a decent CV.

Pretty pleased to hear this. I thought that it was worth giving it a year or so without a permanent coach and while things haven't exactly gone badly Andy has failed to take the next step so certainly time to try something else.

I don't think this would be a bad appointment, but with only one source reporting Rasheed saying this and another lone source quoting Monfils wishing them well together, AND earlier rumours of exactly the same thing happening a year ago and 6 months ago, I wouldn't take it too seriously unless/until an official announcement is made.

Thanls, steven, interesting.

Who knows. Because to be fair, OEM has not exactly been an ulta-reliable source of late.

Dicko also said that the odds of Rasheed being Andy's next coach are longer than those on him winning equestrian gold at the 2012 olympics.

Longer than whose odds? Dicko's, Rasheed's or Andy's?

Who's Dicko, by the way? (Genuine question, unlike the last one.)

Andy should ask Tomic's dad what he thinks of this potential appointment!

Thanks! I know him by his full name, I think.

He needs someone to work on the mental side, I cannot really think who is out there for this.
