Girls: Leeuwenbergh ITF 4 Junior Championships, Netherlands - Grade 4 (Week 27)

Pippa Horn has slowly begun to show signs of the form which swept her to the under 18 National title last year, and is seeded here in what looks to be a good quarter of the draw to make progress.

R1 (L32)

(6) Pippa Horn (GBR) v (WC) Yvette Van Oyen (NED)

Yes, be really good to see Pippa starting to make some real impact again in the juniors.  After her under 18 national results last year, and somehow just listening to her in interview, I was really enthused about what the future mignt bring, but then came injury issues and she really has since seemed to struggled a bit to get back on track.  But lately she was certainly not outclassed at the Wimbledon qualifying play-offs.

She is actually defending the vast bulk of her existing junior points during this month so unless she can string some results together risks going quite a bit down in the rankings in the short-term.

I don't know whether everybody has heard this interview with Pippa at Wimby but it does give a bit of background information.

Unfortunately Pippa crashed today (unless the ITF got another result wrong) and will lose a lot of ranking points as a result cry
