Boys: AEGON Junior International Edinburgh - Grade 5 (Week 27)

The draw here is mainly filled by Brits, and unfortunately has thrown up two big clashes in round 1 for key members of the successful under 16 European Winter Cup winning squad. Chris Pearce tackles top seed Clay Crawford, whilst Jonny O'Mara faces second seed Peter Ashley.

Jonny certainly seems on a roll. That's 9 pretty convincing looking wins in a row ( some extremely convincing ) from last week in Denmark and this week.

back to back ITFs for jonny!!! tough match today, scott played really well and served big, jonny feeling it a bit after 3 weeks of lots of matches-started off a bit heavy and looking tired and a bit grumpy!-scott right out of the traps using his weapons well and took the first set. But just as youd like to see in a young player, the fighting spirit overcame the wearyness and he fought back, took the second and continued the form into the third playing much better tennis. Tired but nothing a good couple of sleeps and some pasta carbonara cant sort-on to Newcastle next week-vamos

Quite shocking behavior by Jonny losing a set  wink

Seriously, really good to see, especially in the understandable circumstances of having played so much in the last 3 weeks.

Sounds from domara as if Scott did all he could to put an end to the run.

Jonny really powering up the rankings.

Hopefully he has enough left in the tank for a good week next week.
