That's last year's Wimbledon points defended. Onward and upward.

Interesting that Martijn Bok who did so much for Laura Robson is now coaching her.  To quite some effect it would appear  smile

There's an interview with him on the Biesterbos ssite. Like Steven I come at Dutch mainly from knowledge of German, so can only give a rough precis translation of key sentences. The link in case we have any Dutch speakers who can improve on my offering is http://www.biesterbosopen.nl/page.aspx?id=18521

(the first section deals with his tennis career as player and coach to Schnyder/Robson etc.)

'Bok began coaching Dean this January. One of his conditions is that he spends no more than 25 weeks a year away from home as he has a young daughter. Bok talks about Dean's qualities and what can be improved. Previously she hit the ball without much thought - she now thinks through points with more creativity in evidence.

Dean is a pupil who Bok can work well with. She is studious, crafty and good to coach. At present they are working on improved footwork to give her more options in matches.

His aim, unlike many other coaches is not for instant results, but to allow the quality and character of her play to mature.

The most important factor in the chemistry between Bok and Dean is Dean's willingness to learn. She is not such a gifted player in terms of soft hands, but is blessed with a good physique and the capability to dominate matches. Moreover Dean has a powerful serve which can put opponents immediately under pressure.

The training has begun to bear fruit in recent weeks. Bok saw (in Alkmaar/Breda) more creativity and ingenuity than before. Cross-court balls are used more, with less unforced errors.'

Good to see Eleanors gam is developing but the results she has had in the past month would seem to indicate that

Eleanor & partner lost the doubles final 10-8 in the match tiebreak. The first two sets were 7-6 and 2-6, but not sure which way round.
