IK broke in game 8 and then played a nervous game offering opportunities to break back, but Daneika was unable to take them

3*-6

Daneika goes down 3-6 2-6 so is unable to give Liam much recovery time (his doubles follows)

Daneika played very well until the seventh game, when she was probably the better player.

Managed to catch a few games of Daneika's match yesterday (sneaking a peak whilst at work...)

Was impressed by some of her returns - I remember a great forehand angled across court for the winner. I liked what I saw of her game, accurate groundstrokes, not too powerful but precise. She hit a few slices and her movement seemed solid.

Brown lost to a better player. Barty is one to watch, already has an air of a tennis player around her.

Indeed - she showed great composure to win the final against Khromacheva (Daneika's conqueror, who has talent, but unfortunately is in the Zvonereva line of temperamental Russians) coming from 1-4* down in the first set and 5-6* in the second. She beat Indy De Vroome (Roehampton winner) in the semis, so there is a lot of strength amongst the 1996 group, which also includes Eleanor Dean of course.
