15-year-old Quinzi, the youngest player in the ITF top 100, clinched his first victory at a Grade A event by defeating the Orange Bowl champion Morgan 62 64 in one hour and 34 minutes, showing great personality and excellent groundstrokes. Talented Napolitano battled hard to see off Greg Rusedskis pupil Broady, who took the title at the Grade 1 Open International Juniors de Beaulieu sur Mer last month. The two were involved in a tough match with Broady leading 5-2 in the third set tie-break when he pulled up with cramps asking for medical assistance. According to a new rule, the Chair Umpire first punished him with a time violation warning and then with two penalty-points. After levelling the score at 5-5, Napolitano was determined to win a dramatic encounter 64 36 76 (8-6). I would have preferred to win in a different way said the Italian Im sorry for Broady, he probably didnt know this new rule.
"Can not believe the idiot of a referee here. cramping at 5-2 up 3rd set tiebreak. Lose the point, on the floor, can't move then I get two point penalties for time wasting even though the physio came on court? So bias towards other Italians its a joke."

Both the Italian reports I read on Liam and George's matches mentioned Greg as their coach. Presumably he's in Milan to oversee the preparations for the quartet, and the report writer just assumed that he is their coach.

I can totally understand Liam's frustration, though it actually appears to be general idiotic rules judging by the similar happenings to George Morgan's opponent in the Austraian Juniors L16.
Having been following them closely I am disappointed in Liam and olivers performance this week !!! They have both been notching up good wins in the futures so something must have gone wrong this week !!
Welcome to the forum, Wolfgang . I'd say two disappointing losses but two quite different cases.
I wouldn't be greatly concerned at all about Liam. He has had a very good season so far in the seniors. It was maybe as suggested that he has had so many matches, I myself would guess at possibly a bit of that and just one of these days. And even if clearly not at his best, he would still have probably scraped a R1 win if he hadn't cramped at the end.
Oli on the other hand does concern me. He has not to my mind been notching up nearly as many wins as I would have hoped in seniors, lately just slightly beginning to correct this, and is falling behind quite a number of his peers on the world stage in that regard. This latest result seems not so much an offday as an apparently hardly turned up day !
There were some discussions in the forum about his Mexican move and coaching arrangements. I must admit at the time I was one unwilling to jump to any predictions, in particular that it would be unhelpful to his career. All I say now is that he is most certainly not progressing as I would have hoped with his previously shown comparative abilty. Whatever the reasons, I would hope he and those around him are trying hard to have all they can in place to help get him back on the right track. Today was very bad, and I do not just see it as an isolated result, the way I see it with Liam.

For some reason it always seems young players don't do as well upon returning to juniors having done well in futures. Weird that.
