It can't be easy. People say "get a coach" as though one can be picked up in the nearest supermarket. Finding the right person - somebody that Andy likes, respects and will take notice of - who is also available and willing, is no small task. The best coaches are already working with somebody else or tied up with other commitments.

Good luck Andy - I hope the temporary arrangement helps. And quickly!

Interesting comments from Andy about the split with Corretja, on the BBC site.

"The problem with the situation with Alex, and this is not a criticism of him, was that he was the most experienced guy on my team so he controlled my schedule," Murray said.

"He obviously wasn't in Australia and that's where I feel the relationship maybe broke down a little bit.

"We still really get on as friends but if someone's going to be controlling what's going on, you need to have them there at the big events.

"You spend four weeks away from them and you're having a great run, but then you come back and you're being told you need to do this or do that."

So Alex was controlling the schedule? Maybe that is why Andy entered Barcelona and not Monte Carlo. I never understand why any player would choose to miss MC - double points for one of your 500-committment tournaments? I would have thought it a no-brainer. If Andy does win one match (granted at the moment, that could be a big IF) he will get 90 points for it.

There are lots of comments flying around in the press. Andy mentioning Tim Henman and speaking about his Mum. The spin on this depends entirely where you read it.

I would personally be delighted for the pointless speculation to end, It's a complete waste of energy, and only Andy can make the decision.

I hope he does find a new coach, one who fulfills whatever role Andy requires. I quite agree with another posters comments (sorry can't remember who) along the lines of what's so special about a coach and what exactly is it they do. Strikes me however that Andy could do with some help right now in whatever guise that may take.
