Has Andy ever done well in singles, in tournaments where he is playing doubles with Jamie? I can't remember one, except where they lost first round in the doubles.

Yes, I was wondering the same yesterday. Let's blame Jamie for his singles
Doubles ain't pointless ( or it would never get past 0 - 0, sorry )
I do recall when I attended the WTF doubles and singles final, the place was much more than half empty for the doubles final before totally filling up for the singles final, so many folk evidently preferred wandering the O2 or whatever than watching top class doubles and the Bryans win their latest trophy.
I myself was certainly interested enough to watch the doubles ( well, it was part of the ticket price anyway ) but clearly an awful lot of folk weren't.
I still kinda think it deserves its place, whether that's too much or too generous a place ( and it has maybe taken away some GB players earlier than I would have liked from singles ) is maybe open to arguement.

In all honesty Andy's doubles wins mean jack *hit to me. If he's performing as he should in singles and uses doubles for fun or to hone bits of his game thats just great. Meantime I'm underwhelmed.
Thankyou, Victor Meldrew
I see there are a few GOMs emerging on this board
Actually it's grumpy old woman !
I love to watch doubles, I think it's a great spectator sport. But I do sometimes question top level singles players decision to play doubles as well .
That said I was just disappointed to see such a lacklustre match
I don't think you need to be a GOM (or even someone who can't see the point of doubles) to think that it's crazy that you can earn significantly more money playing doubles in ATP events as a top 100 doubles player than you can as a 100-200 singles player doing well in Challengers.
You can't blame the players who decide to be doubles specialists for making the decision they have made - the problem is how much that decision is skewed. For example, I don't think there's much doubt that Colin Fleming would be a decent Challenger-level singles player by now had he not found that specialising in doubles made it easier to 'pay the mortgage' as he himself tweeted earlier this week.
