Given some of the adjectives he uses when Andy is winning Masters titles and going reasonably comfortably through Grand Slam rounds, if he's seen this, we may at least learn some new words !
Just to put some perspective on that defeat, Robredo has just taken the first set 6-0 against Young, needing just 22 minutes to do so and dropping just 11 points in the process...
A bit harsh TMS, I thought his loss was because of a combination of reasons. 1. Very ring rusty because of lack of matches 2. Some discomfort from his left knee in the second meant he had less fight to make a comeback 3. His opponent was on fire, irrespective of how DY has played today.
Agreed not good bit IMO not as bad as this time last year.
Yes, Andy is no doubt a bit ring rusty and seemed to have issues with his knee ( though he often seems to have issues ), but he's clearly not in terrible shape given his very good doubles wins with Jamie. I am afraid I think there may again be a mental element here, this was surely a match he should still be winning.
Anyway as far as I can see that's Donald Young's first ever win against a top 30 player after 11 previous attempts. His best rankings win before seems to have been a three set win against Feliciano Lopez at Indian Wells in 2008 when Lopez was ranked 32.
He has today lost his 12th out of 13 matches against top 30 players 6 - 0 6 - 4 against Tommy Robredo.

In all honesty Andy's doubles wins mean jack *hit to me. If he's performing as he should in singles and uses doubles for fun or to hone bits of his game thats just great. Meantime I'm underwhelmed.
Interesting article by OEM in today's Times. Headline: "Coach needed to stop rudderless Murray from being cast adrift"! He lists Bob Brett, Tony Roche, Roger Rasheed & Darren Cahill (all Aussies - & fairly strong characters - curiously enough!) as names in the frame. Tony Roche is apparently "believed to have approached the Murrays recently to see if there was a way they could work together, but when no positive response was forthcoming, he returned to work with Lleyton Hewitt and has been REappointed the Australia David Cup coach." (my emphasis) I can't help wondering whether Andy is now just too pig-headed for his own good!

Quite agree with OEM and with SC re the pigheadedness. I'd love to see Johnny Mac have a go but that will never happen. Can you imagine the fireworks *!%$*

As a fully paid up member of the GOM club, I completely agree with Armchair.
IMHO, Doubles is completely pointless. Believe me, I've tried to "get" it - but I just can't.
TV is totally uninterested in showing doubles - unsurprisingly, because nobody would watch. (I tell a lie - they occasionally like to show (ahem) "comedy" doubles with Mansour Bahrami and Henri Leconte, but don't get me started on that ...
I think it is outrageous that successful doubles players can earn so much money - goodness knows how they managed to pull off such a good deal with the ATP over the split of prize money.
