Some great wins today - punched the air when I saw Fitzy's win against WR 284 Rastogi - well done, your performances this year seem to be a class above last year's! Thanks very much to the wolf for all the tweets.
Tomorrow's OoP matches BBC/ITF in suggesting that Vibert upset top seed Cervenak (probably a match the Wolf was only keeping half an eye on since no Brits were involved), so the Frenchman (WR 792) is the only obstacle in the way of the GB finalist in the top half.
The bottom quarter would be looking pretty good too if Slabba had been able to close it out against Mertens - "Its not rocket science...win to avoid disappointment!" as he put it himself!

its fair to say i got the pump out at the end of my match today as well! The first set went on for absolutely ages! Every game and ralley was going on for a long time and it was a real physical battle, with one of the worst umpires around.
I served an ace at 5-5 in the breaker we both walked to the other side 6-5 me, she then about a good 45 seconds later decided to call my serve wide, everyone watching laughing and in shock, i had to step back and hit a second serve. Luckily held my nerve played a good point and took the breaker. Second set i couldnt get near him, he was hitting the corners of everything so it felt like a one set match at like 4-0.
Played really well considering he gave me a bagel in the second set. Really pleased and set up a great opportunity to make the quarters tomorrow and move up the rankings. Consistently competing if not beating guys at the top this year your right. I went straight onto doubles from my singles, so i was on the same court for over 5 hours, only just stopped now.
So tired. Great day. Try to savour it for the few hours i have.
A good day overall with Miles Bugby and Fitzy taking out the no 3 & 4 seeds and Slabba taking the no 2 seed to 3 sets. Plus hopefully helps that the no 1 seed is gone too.
Just pity and rather surprising re Josh Milton's loss.

R2: Nicolas Rosenzweig (FRA) WR 846 lost to (Q) Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 1082 by 4 & 3
* Fitzy actually served for the match at 5-2 in the second, but was broken, I think to 0, so he promptly broke Rosenzweig to take it in the ninth game instead! Well done, lad.

He is having an excellent week, long may it continue! Torebco (484) or Sakharov (550) in the QFs. He must fancy his chances if he can maintain this form!
How many points does he win? Draw sheets no longer contain this information which is a shame....
