News of another title won here, in an international under 16 tournament featuring six nations. There should have been 5 winners from Regional tournaments in North America, Europe, Asia, Australasia and South America along with the European runners-up (us), but Brazil could not travel for financial reasons, so were replaced by a second Indian team.

The team of Harriet Dart, Alannah Griffin, Tommy Bennett and Tom Hill started with a 4-2 defeat against Germany, but rallied to beat India (A & B), New Zealand and USA. That left 3 nations, GBR, India and Germany tied on 4 wins.

The title was eventually decided by a mised doubles shoot-out (match tiebreak) against the Germans - and against all the odds Tommy Bennett and Harriet Dart triumphed 10-6
