Boys: Junior Orange Bowl, USA - U14/U12 (Weeks 50-51)

Peter Ashley aims to go one better than Luke Bambridge last year, who won the Eddie Herr followed by the American tournament bridging the gap to the Orange Bowl but was unable to complete the hattrick. Joshua Sapwell's fine year in Europe culminating in the Masters title earns him the number 1 seeding.

Under 14 R1 (L128)

(1) Joshua Sapwell (GBR) v Terrell Whitehurst (USA)
Shakeel Manji (GBR) v Ivan Liutarevich (BLR)
Alex Sendegeya (GBR) v Jared Donaldson (USA)
(Q) v (3) Peter Ashley (GBR)

Under 12 R1 (L128)

Ignacio Ascarrunz (BOL)  v Ivan Bennett (GBR)
Timur Chelmodeev (RUS) v Antonio Carpasso (GBR)
(1=) Nathan Ponwith (USA) v Tiran Sanghera (GBR)
Camilo Ponce (ECU) v (1=) Charles Broom (GBR)

Similar strength - they have just adjusted the seedings. The boy who was top seed at the Eddie Herr suddenly becomes unseeded (!) whilst the two unseeded Belgian semi-finalists have gained seedings as a result. The Les Petits As finalist is another dangerous floater.

Peter Ashley's had a growth spurt by the looks of it. Nice to see that it has improved his game rather than disrupted it.
