Oli and George both tweeted and coincidentally have won by the same scoreline 1 and 4, so both move into the QF. Well done to both, Oli needs to win his next match to back up his seeding.

Well done to both  smile    Surely Phil, Oli has backed up his no 5 seeding by reaching the QFs.  Was in line to face the no 4 seed ( Zsiga of Hungary ) in the QF though don't know if he has won.

Thats right Indy, my mind must have been frazzled as a result of England missing out on the 2018 world cup bid, what an anti-climax that was !

Zsiga it is. Olly beat him last year, but the Hungarian has advanced rapidly since. George squeezed past his Ecuadorean opponent 7-5 in the third in the US Open

QF

(4) Mate Zsiga (HUN) v (5) Oliver Golding (GBR)
(11) George Morgan (GBR) v (2) Roberto Quiroz (ECU)

Luke/Kyle and Olly/George won through to the doubles quarters. Liam went out

SF: (5) Oliver Golding beat (6) Joris de Loore (BEL) by 7-6(5) 6-2 smile.gif

FI: (5) Oliver Golding v (3) Dominic Thiem (AUT)

Thiem is junior world no. 6 and ATP ranked 912 but Oli beat him 7-6(2) 7-6(5) when they met at Roehampton on grass earlier this year.

Well done to Oli on reaching the final.

Thiem certainly seems in very good form, winning last week's Yucatan World Cup Grade 1 event in Mexico, beating George Morgan  6 - 4  6 - 2 in the QF.

It looks to me that it will be a really impressive effort if Oli can repeat here the win he managed on Roehamption grass earlier in the year.

From ZooTennis commenting on the first set:

"Golding made four consecutive unforced errors to give de Loore a chance to serve out the set, but de Loore played an equally sloppy tenth game, with a double fault and two unforced errors, putting Golding right back in the set and ultimately, the match"

The final is nb noon (5pm GMT)
