RE: Week 47 - ATP World Tour Finals 1500

Is anyone else going to the Final? I wish I was going to cheer on Andy (gutted that he lost after being so close to winning) but as consolation prizes go, I guess a chance to see Fed and Rafa on top form can't be bad! Their matches away from clay have tended to be 'quite good'. wink

Of course, there's a chance that Rafa will be worn out after yesterday and Fed will walk all over him, but I remember many people thinking that after the Verdasco semi at the AO a couple of years ago ...

I love watching Nadal play, but how does he do it?

His serve is no better than adequate - he gets very few cheap points on it. He's served a few at 130+ in this tournament, but he usually misses when he goes for that speed.

Yes, he can crank up a big flat forehand, but mainly he doesn't, and when he does crank it up, it's no better than what Fed/Del Potro/Soderling do almost every shot.

In fact his game is a bit like Ferrer's ...

... but with ATTITUDE.

Incredible match. Incredible players. One slightly better than the other.

Need any more be said?

Nope.  Just sorry that Andy was the loser after such a valiant effort! tears.gif  At least Rafa was gracious enough to acknowledge that fact. smile One of these days... pray.gif
