So the top seeds justified their respective seedings.
Yes, every seed in Glasgow is ranked around 50 or more places higher than the corresponding seed in La Roche sur Yon. The Nigerian 15K+H is even weaker of course, but the fact that a 15K in the UK has a much stronger entry than even a 15K+H in France (which you would expect to be more popular even without the +H given the number of pros in France) once again shows how crazy it is to have a ranking system based solely on available prize money.
The field in La Roche is weaker than it might normally be because of the challenger in Orleans this same week. There were plenty of spaces in qualifying in Orleans. It says something for the depth of French tennis when they can have a futures and a challenger in the same week.
I really don't have a problem with some wild cards being given to foreign players, this should be a give and take thing. Compared with most European nations, our players have things too easy. There are plenty of opportunities for our players to go out and win matches in this country and abroad.
I wonder what the draw in Welwyn Garden is going to be like? I'll try and go....
Don't go to WGC - the tournament has moved to Loughborough. Very frustrating as I live 15 mins from WGC and was looking forward to it. See thread for week 45 entries.
Let's hope that Dan can push on. Beating Viola or Fabbiano is certainly not beyond his abilities and he needs to reach the final to match the points he won this week last year.

That's my last update of the week folks as I'm off for the weekend. Been a pleasure. All the best to Evans and the rest of the female Brits left in the tourney
