US Open - R3 - Andy vs Stanislas Wawrinka

It seems Andy's plan is to get to the net quite often

Looking at stats on website, it looks like one break each.

Also, no aces yet from Andy. A bit unusual.

Uneducated comment I know, but I think Andy is always happy to have a go at the top guys but finds it harder to focus on the good but lower (than him) ranked players.

Ought to be two breaks for Andy. Stan was 5-1 up, Andy having got the one game on his own serve, and Stan having broken him three times and held twice. Stan broke to go up 5-1. Andy then broke back to go 5-2, held 5-3, broke 5-4, and then held again to go 5-5.

And now Stan just held to go 6-5, with Andy serving to try and make it 6-6.

confuse What on earth just happened with that crazy point there? Andy was angry, that's for sure. Thankfully he is 4-1 up in the tb anyways.

I think it was just an "allez" from Stan, but it gave Andy the chance to get angry and it worked.

just to clear things up it was 1 break each in the set

I heard the commentators mention a comeback from 5-2, so that would back that up.

Yeah, this has already been stated, and doesn't add anything. Please provide an exact breakdown of how the set progressed. teamwork.gifsmile

I don't think it was ever 5-1, though I was only half-following and getting a bit confused by the score too!

Having got right back on top, he now seems to have handed Stani a break. bleh

Sky have been dipping in and out of Rafa's match too, and confirmed the Nadal win there. Good news for my Pick'em, seeing as Nadal is my predicted champion.

Stunned to learn of "le petit Gillou"'s existence. Some saying provided motivation for him to lose. Actually said he wanted to lose so he could get back to France as fast as possible. Surprised that didn't cause mass betting on Nadal tonight.

I imagine the odds weren't very generous even before Gillou said that!
