I saw plenty of LTA support there but unlike most people who write reports on this board....I was there....

It appears then that I only had the partial story having only watched it on tv. Bok was sitting by himself whilst clearly another group not spotted by the tv cameras were sitting elsewhere. Thanks for providing the full picture.

Do the girls from small East European countries that do better than us in women's tennis have a whole team from their national federation watching them when they play juniors matches thousands of miles from home? I suspect not. Therefore the presence of such a team may not be a key contributor to success.

just for Osomec's "we spend more money than us and have better results view" saw Babos match today. 1 physio, coach, medical person, 2 boys from their team, hitting partner, and Gosling team. (trains at Gosling) Compare that to the little team we took, as a supporter of gb boy???!!!! guys grow up its not about money.

It is not about money is exactly what I was saying (your made up quote of me doesn't actually make any sense by the way). It's no wonder British tennis doesn't have many year round fans, when the insiders are so ready to abuse the few of us that exist. I'm going to quit this site for a while, as it is stupid to get involved in rows on the internet with people one has never met.

Actually, I was confused, Osomec, in that I had certainly read that you were saying it wasn't about how much money or support. You put a rhetorical question and answered it in the negative.  I'm not sure how much I agree with you but that's by the way smile  watchmaker's posts then seemed to misunderstand this though were a bit confusing.

But rather than speak for you, especially in case I had in some way misunderstood, I was rather leaving you to speak for yourself if you wanted to, as you now have.

Yes, watchmaker's tone has been rather disappointing, but I do hope that you are not put off continuning in this forum which contains many good folk who have a real interest in and care about British tennis.

Just try not to let things here get you down, no need to row but maybe occasionally correct as you did. But it is up to you of course.

Just being curious watchmaker, where abouts where you sitting for Golding's 1st round match? I was there for pretty much all of the 2nd set on the opposite side to the umpire, around the service line. Just wondering if I was seated near you at all smile.gif

This made no sense. And, in fact, if you would have took the time to read Osomec's post, you would have realised that this was not his/her "view" at all.

Moreover, your condescending tone is simply not appreciated here.

Laura lost 3 & 2, a pretty shocking result by the looks of it. Maybe she can't get herself that enthused about juniors any more.
