And when I spotted that Andy might get this match up prior to the start of the USO I was so intrigued, and what do I do but go and miss the first set and a half. Tuned in at 4-0 in the second set. Andy seems to be pretty on form here. Don't think he'll have a problem. That said, Brown's got some decent shots up his sleeve that's for sure, and I'm wondering if the whole "let's poach him for Davis Cup" idea is worth revisiting.

Andy now *3-0 in the third - but then, he was 5-0 up in the second and Dreddy pulled back 3 in a row. You just never know what is coming next from this guy!
Like the first round it is hard to fault Andy's performance. He kept his cool when Brown was playing well in the first set, took his opportunity and never looked back.
It was a real shame for Ryan Harrison, missing 3 match points in the fifth set tiebreaker after a 4 hour match has got to be pretty gutting for an 18 year old.
In another near upset Benoit Paire served for the match against Feli Lopez at 5-4 in the fourth but missed his opportunity and Lopez is now on the brink of winning the fifth.
Next opponent will be Wawrinka. The H2H is 5-3 to Andy; 2 of the 3 Wawrinka wins were on clay, the one on hard was back in 2006. Andy has won all 4 meetings on hard (and the one on grass)
Wawrinka isn't having the best of years. He had an okay clay court season winning Casablanca and reaching the 4th round of Roland Garos where he played he chap called Federer. He then decided that the best way to prepare for Wimbledon was to play a clay court challenger which he won but them lost to Istomin in the first round of Wimbledon. He then lost hist first match in Washington to Nalbandian, his second match in Toronto to Nadal and his second match in Cincinnati to Benneteau.
EDIT: This must have a good chance of being the night match on Sunday. The possible Nadal v Simon match up looks an entertaining prospect but Nadal will already have played two night matches. If Nalbandian gets through his match against Verdasco could also be a good one but I doubt the organisers would gave that match top billing and none of the other sunday matches look worthy of it.

Just as long as now that Roddick's away they don't feel like giving the night spot to another American like Isner vs Youzhny or even a possible Querrey match
I'd expect Murray vs Wawrinka to be chosen though.
Murray played some of his very best US Open tennis in a last 16 sublime demolition of Wawrinka in 2008 and Wawrinka was ranked no 10 at the time.
Andy coming across as miserable as I have seen him in his post match presser, hopefully a good sign. I would think Andy should be the night match, however when he could do with it middle of next week, when it gets much hotter again, he probably won't.
