Its good to see young Mannarino playing in the US Open....Its just so disapointing that when I watched him a couple of years ago playing in the Edinbrugh futures not one of the youn Brits has been able to replicate his progress...he didnt look a complete player or even several levels above the others but he did look mature on the court and now he is playing in a GS as of right..well done young Adrian. One more set and he will have won a round into the bargain.
Schedule is out for tomorrow. Andy plays on Arthur Ashe not before 1 pm local time ( 6 pm BST ) following on from a women's singles match between Anna Ivanovic and Jie Zheng which is due to start at 11 am local time.
94deg. forecast. I hope he comes out determined to win in 3 and get off into the ice bath asap.
I do wish he hadn't tweeted about the heat separating the boys from the men, or the 'workers from the shirkers' (or words to that effect) . I just knew when he said that he would get scheduled at peak heat time..... again !!!!
Biggest threat to @andy_murray is heatstroke. Could be record temperature before the weather breaks tomorrow.
If Andy ends up playing Dustin Brown in the second round, I'm thinking Dustin will be a touch more used to huricanes.
If there's semi hurricane weather about come Friday, he'll be like "C'mon, what's the problem, let's just play man"
On current forecasts Friday morning should still be fine. Hurricane Earl should be arriving off the coast of New York (about 150 miles out to sea) late Friday afternoon.
