A very enjoyable* match and the second set aside a good performance from Andy. If he plays like that tomorrow he should have too much for Querrey.

* More enjoyable for not having Leif Shiras commentating on it.

(2) Querrey WR 20 is the defending champion here but Muzza leads the H2H 4-0.

Sounds a bit better from Andy.

Interesting service stats :   65% first serve in,  63% first serve points won,  54% second serve points won,  59% overall service points won,  broken 3 times.  7 aces, no DFs

So much better first serve %, but with that really reltively low first serve points won and indeed his lowest overall % service points won of the week.

Maybe these who watched this could give some idea of whether these stats indicate Andy was just going for accuracy more so his first serves in were generally less effective. Or was he actually serving just about as strongly, and more accurately, ( ace count actually his highest of the week ) and it was more the good returning of Lopez and general good play that led to the above.  Maybe a bit of both.

You can't read too much into the stats because the second set throws everything out. A simple match summary.

First set Murray played well and Lopez didn't. 6-0 was a fair relection.

Second set Lopez improved and Murray got almost everything wrong. He wasted all three of his challenges in the first 3 games (including a very silly challenge on the baseline at Lopez's end) and then couldn't challenge a couple of clear errors. By mid way through the set I got the distinct impression that he had wrote it off as a disaster and was waiting for set 3.

Third set both players played well but Murray's superiority was clear. He broke in the first game and looked strong on serve throughout the set. Lopez only took him to duece once and didn't have any break points.
