A win for either Luke or Kyle would be a major achievment: Jankovic has accounted for Jack Carpenter, Richard Gabb and George Morgan on clay this year.

Magnificent win for Kyle, who really thrives in the European Championships, having made the under 14 finals last year. It doesn't get much easier though, as Barrere is also top 100 ITF, having beaten Jack at Roehampton.

From the LTA: "Martin Weston, GB Junior Tennis Manager for Men's Tennis, said afterwards....It was the toughest possible conditions [40+ degree heat] but Kyle was strong and played a flawless match. He served 10 aces and raised his game when the going got tough."

Luke and Kyle are through to the doubles quarters as well, playing against the Greek pair tomorrow

Under 14 L16

(8) Joshua Sapwell (GBR) d. (11) Aleksandr Chepelev (RUS) 6-7(3) 6-4 6-4

QF

Lucas Miedler (AUT) v (8) Joshua Sapwell (GBR)

Doubles semis

(3) Ashley/Sapwell (GBR) v (2) Quinzi/Baldi (ITA)

A very tough prospect in doubles against a very strong Italian team, featuring the TE number 1 player, which has dropped few games so far

Richard and Ollie were well beaten by the Spanish pair, thus ending our involvement in the under 18s

Joshua continues in the footsteps of Kyle, who reached the final last year before crashing out to the number 1 seed. He does have the possible advantage of having beaten the Italian recently in the Summer Cup, but Quinzi loses few matches.

Kyle and Luke will be looking to repeat Ollie and George's success in the doubles last year in Moscow.
