Thanks for the report Josh. Nations have until the Captains' meeting on the day before to change their nominated team. According to the rules: "Four players can be nominated (three players and one reserve player) but only three will be authorized to be on-site and get full hospitality." so no surprise that Laura wasn't there, once the team was decided.
Pity we weren't drawn on the side of the draw with France (second seeds) who are quite strong, but nowhere near Ukraine's strength on paper.
So are you saying David that she could be there tomorrow playing if the team captain makes a change to her team selection.
According to Josh the u16's lost 3-0, so that's no junior fed cup involvement for the second year on the trot. By the way Josh how long does it take you to get from Chiswick to Greenswood ?
I think it took around 45 minutes. I left when Cox finished as I wasn't really interested in the doubles and got to Queenswood near the beginning of the 2nd set of the doubles match.
The under 18s gained a consolation win against Portugal 3-0, Natalie Beazant and Lucy Brown both winning singles and teaming up in doubles (all straight sets)
The under 16s finished 3rd in their group (Ukraine duly beating France to win it) by beating Hungary 2-1 (Jo won her singles and teamed up with Jess to win the doubles)
