I'm currently waiting between court 1 and court 17, and in half an hour I'll be heading towards the resale queue. Unfortunately, I've heard from a Steward that there's a quicker way by passing through court 1, so even if I get there before the people I'm standing with, I may be a way back in the resale queue...
i guess its people with special passes etc that got in ahead? when i went there last week i had a players guest pass courtesy of Boggo and could go in as soon as i arrived (about 9am).
good luck with getting the tickets tho. after all that you sure deserve it. shame none of the jurnos etc that took such an interest where able to help you out a little more.

What happened was, the turnstiles opened at about 9:15, then we were kept enclosed behind a chain which I was obviously at the front of. But when they put the chain down, it was in stages, so lots of people got away in front of me, and I also was held up behind guards. So when I properly joined the stampede to the resale queue, there were at least 20 people in front of me, but I managed to re-overtake many of them. I've been told that on Sunday, the order of the resale queue will be based on position in the overnight queue, but that doesn't help me. Apparently, people have already started queuing for Sunday!
Very true. I still haven't recovered from queuing from early morning on the first Tuesday! But then, I don't suppose Stew is 68 years old with arthritis. . .
I met Stew on the way back to Southfields station and he seemed none the worse for the experience. He was on his way to Victoria to catch the night coach home - you'd think that would finish you off even if the queueing hadn't, but he seemed pretty relaxed about the prospect.
I'd gone to check whether he was still in the queue after Laura's match ended, thinking that if it was becoming clear he wouldn't get in, we could swap tickets for a set or so (so he wouldn't miss out completely) if that wouldn't mean him losing a hard-won place on the Hill, but was happy to see he wasn't there (assuming it meant good news) and he texted me to let me know he'd got in not long after - he was a row in front but on the other side of the court, I think.
Anyway, huge respect to him for what he did - slightly crazy, but definitely in a good way - in the BT.net tradition, you could say
