Really impressed with Oliver Golding. Hitting the ball hard and flat and has a good positive attitude. Looks like a good prospect. Broady is fought well in the first set, but he is playing someone nearly two years older so not too disappointed if he loses
David how good a win was James beating the no2 seed?
Is Velotti a clay-court guy?
Difficult to gauge. He reached the quarters here last year, and beat James 2 & 1 at Roehampton last year so can clearly play on grass. However Velotti has been playing Futures on clay mainly this year (beating French veteran Olivier Patience, who qualified for Roland Garros, in his last tournament). He wasn't on the original entry list here, and took a late wildcard, perhaps fancying another grand slam having just claimed the French. He may well have been underprepared, not having played singles at Roehampton this year.
