I thought the commentators had done them in with their comments midway through the 2nd set about the match being over already. Thankfully they got back on top.

Yes exactly what I thought - I knew they would lose serve after they said that.
There is no rule in the matter, just I'd say Osomec is out of step with how 90 + % of folk would look at this ( and the "of course it is like full ages" is tosh )
If someone is today said to be aged 16 and a quarter I am sure most folk would think she was born about March / April 1994, not January 1994 ! ( and yes, not even late January 1994 ) where they'ed more likely call her 16 and a half.
If Osomec wants to look at this differently, fair dos, but the commentator was not "wrong", especially as I said because there is no right or wrong.

You are just making up what you say 90% of people would think, you have no evidence to back it up. The commentator was wrong, and if I am talking tosh, you are talking balderdash. I actually pointed out that people don't normally refer to people as sixteen and a quarter. For that matter they don't normally refer to them as sixteen and a half either, but unless they can't count months (and there are a lot of innumerate people out there) they certainly don't call them sixteen and a half until they actually are sixteen and a half.
what time is the final tomorrow. hopefully, no clash with the mens singles.
3rd match on No.1 (first being at 2pm) so should be no clash providing Rafa isn't suckered into a marathon
From the LTA:
After the match Morgan said: "We've experienced two big final sets, last year when we lost, and in our second round match here. Those experiences helped a lot, as we believed we could pull through it."
....
"All our matches have been tough, three sets, but the further along in the tournament, the better the players, and today was probably the toughest of the bunch" said Farquharson after the win.
"Being on No.1 court is very exciting for both of us, we're looking forward to such a grand stage, but we just have to view it as another match and go out there and do the business. You play to win, obviously we're still friends, but you play the ball. We've never played them before in doubles, we've trained in singles with these guys, but doubles is different tennis."
The last British winners were Martin Lee and James Trotman in 1995

I know what I'll be watching if there's a choice! I don't think I've ever cared so little who wins the men's and women's Finals!
Btw Farquharson has some big final set 'previous' too 4-6 7-6(3) 13-11 v world junior no. 1 Daniel Berta & Urbanek in R1 last year when he was playing with Sterland-Markovic. I was there and while S S-M was the one getting the crowd going, Tom was an absolute rock on serve.

Ah well, looks like neither of us will be moved on this one. C'est la vie.
I'm going to go for Morgan/Burton, as i believe they just have such a strong serving line up, they should be looking to hold most of the time comfortably while putting pressure on with their returns. Dont mind who wins, what a fantastic effort to get this far from to british pairs!!
There are a lot of points on offer for doubles grand slam winners, and these are arguably of greater value to Liam/Tom than George/Lewis. It means that Liam breaks into the top 100 for the first time, becoming the second highest ranked 1994 boy (behind Copa Gerdau winner Mathias Bourgue), and will be able to enter US Open qualifying. Tom will also have that option if he wants to, and the pair may well get into the doubles to have a go at a second slam.
Well done to all 4 boys for fighting their way through to the final and in particular to Liam and Tom for getting their names on the trophy.
Belated congrats too to Ollie G for his great tournament. These performances are all very encouraging. Hopefully having this number of lads playing at the same stage, they will spur each other on and Wimbledon 2010 must have given them all a huge amount of confidence.
Naomi broady mentioned on her twitter that liam is flying to czech rep. is he playing a juniors or something?
Yes he is playing a Grade 3 tournament starting on Wednesday, followed by a Grade 1 in Austria the following week. If he does very well then he could gain direct entry to the US Open main draw.
