Great for Eleanor to get a win in her first Wimbledon, even though her opponent is struggling at the moment as Phil says (she lost by an almost identical score at the French Open)
Eleanor's stats: 51%-77% 1st serve, 9-1 aces, 9-1 double faults, 32-11 unforced errors, 44-7 winners,13/16-1/4 net approaches,. 83-60 points won. Reads like she was going all-out with the aggression.
The Rens are split for doubles; doesn't look good for Jennifer given their opponents and her partner's performance today. Laura/Lucy have a tough match too although plenty of recent experience against Sloane Stephens in Eastbourne. Natalie back playing for GBR again ;)

Very disappointed to see Zarah Razafimahatratra go out in the first round - shame her tennis isn't quite as good as her incredibly long and difficult to pronounce quickly name.
With Laura playing this, you would hope that she could win the title, especially given that she won it two years ago and you would expect her to have improved a lot in that time. The top seed is already out as well, so one of her main challengers has already fallen.
No star treatment given to Laura on Monday's schedule. Placed on court 15 with all the rest of the juniors. So no TV coverage.( all her matches last year were put on a televised court) Her chances this week entirely depend upon her focus and how much she wants it.
"I am very happy. It's a great experience being here, I'm quite young, I've got loads of years ahead, but to win the first time I've played here is great. The first set I was really nervous, but then I loosened up and I thought I returned and served very well today.
"The crowd were really great, a lot of people from the NTC were there supporting me, so I really enjoyed it. Playing at Eastbourne last week was really good preparation, practicing on grass prepared me well and I really enjoyed it. "
Jess's appearance in doubles I think means either she was injured at the start of qualifying and has quickly recovered or her main draw WC was passed to Laura
Monday's schedule (singles)
Natalie 2nd court 6 Jen 4th court 6 Tara 4th court 11 Laura 2nd court 15
