I would agree with JB about Naomi's forehand, which lacks penetration. Her backhand is a better shot when she gets in the right position, but there's the rub. She isn't sufficiently on her toes and often doesn't get into A1 position, so someone with good all-court craft like Anne had little difficulty winning the majority of long rallies. Her serve is very good, but she will need to dramatically improve her weaknesses, especially movement, to rise much further I think.
Carly has a much better grasscourt game than Katie - she made some very good half-volleys and volleys today. Katie likes to grind out points from the back, and she wasn't as consistent as she can be, but was always up against it.
And the service breaks continued - until Zahlavova finally managed to consolidate one to take the second set & with it the match, or at least I assume she did, as the scoreboard disappeared off the screen while I wasn't looking! 4-6 in the second?
