RE: Week 22 - ITF ($50K) - Nottingham, Grass

Bally breaks Lertch to 40 in the opening game of the second set:  *1-0.  All she has to do now is hang on to her own service...

I sincerely hope it is no more than precautionary & I imagine that means she & Mel will now give Sarah B & RKJ a walkover into the final of the women's doubles.

New from the same sourse - the pain has now moved, but the news is relatively good:

"Encouraging news from @annekeothavong. Her hip has been a little bit sore but she's confident she'll be fine for Brum with a few days rest"

Bally has now picked up exactly 700 points this year (tho some may not be in her best 16 at the moment) - so she is already assured of a year end top 100 place with 30 weeks of the year (in effect about 25, half of the actual tennis season) to go because 700 points is enough for WR 93 at the moment.

SF: (1) Elena Baltacha WR 64 v (6) Xinyun Han (CHN) WR 150

Han beat Elena 1-6 6-3 7-6(4) in Kurume last year. Time to put that right, I think!

^^^^

At least the QF won't have taken too much out of her & she should be reasonably fresh - I hope.
