A win for Andy! Thank goodness for that! I hope he can put his IW and Miami performances behind him now.

Hallelujah!

Great to see some of the old "Murray Magic" shots back. Ferrer (if he wins, as he will most probably) will be much harder however. Still it's good to see Andy looking as though he is interested in winning again biggrin.gif

Andy says he thinks he was a bit mentally tired after Australia, he experienced some niggles and didn't do as much practice as he should have after AO which meant he wasn't in his rhythm. He doesn't put his losses down to a serious problem and says everyone has a couple of bad tourneys sometimes, and pointed to Fed as an example. He referred back to the talk over his losses and said that everyone talking about it seemed to be "in a panic", but he wasn't panicked about it.

Much better from Andy. But is he back to his best ? Probably not quite but still alot better than Monte Carlo. Played alot of good shots and appeared for the first time for a long time to have his mental desire back. Appeared a little bit nervous in his post match interview but overall very encouraging.

Welcome back, Andy Murray smile

Interesting to hear what he was saying Lady T.  Of course we had no doubts about him winning against Seppi ( shh, noone will go back and read the first page wink.gif ).

Anyway Ferrer it is in the last 16.  He has just beaten Korolev 6-4 6-1.  Now that will no doubt be a real test of where Andy is at now.

Edit :  Oops, getting ahead of myself.  Ferrer has to play Starace in the last 32 first. Nice scheduling, Ferrer playing one round behind at the same time as Andy.  I hope the Ferrer v Starace match doesn't go on for too many hours tomorrow  wink.gif

Looks like we can all breathe a bit easier now.

Some nice shots from Andy and especially nice to see that backhand up the line quite a few times as well.

Andy played decent in my opinion, a few classic moments, but it wasn't awesome form, not yet. What relieved me the most was Andy's interview. He seemed a lot more together and he practically said as much that he felt mentally much better.

Let's see how he stands up against Ferrer. That said, even getting to the match against Ferrer, I am rather relieved!

And indeed it will be Ferrer in the next match, he knocked out Potito Starace tonight. That will not be an easy match.

Tomorrow at about 4pm - and guess who is committed to hospital visiting from 2-4furious It will probably be about 5pm when I get home.

Murray is broken for 4-2.

He totally looks like Ferrer is in his head at the moment
