Girls: AEGON Junior International Week 2, Nottingham - Grade 4 (Week 15)

Katy Dunne goes for a second title here, and appears to have a good draw early on at least. Amy Askew is the top seed whilst many of our top under 14s have wildcards. The singles draw can be found here:

After last week's close shave though, are you going to get such good odds this week in your local bookies for the finalists in AEGON Junior International Week 2, Nottingham ?   wink.gif

First round results now on the above link. No major shocks, but Ruth Seaborne continued her form from last week, dropping just 2 games to the 10th seed

Second round up, closer one for Seaborne, easy for Dunne, Askew and Melrose.

Good win for Harriet Dart over the 3 seed (in three tie-breaks).

11 out of 16 remaining are British.

Some excellent results: apart from Harriet, another of our 1996 girls Katie Boulter took out the 5th seed, and Georgina Bastick beat Brit-basher Pia Konig. The third round sees a rematch of last week's semi between Ruth Seaborne and Abbi Melrose

That would have been a nice 18th birthday present for Bastick then.

I see Katy Dunne is through to the quarters and Ruth Seaborne beat Abbi Melrose again so could still be a repeat of last week's final.

The 1996 girls, Katie Boulter and Harriet Dart didn't make it, though close for Harriet.

Deja vu. Easy wins for Dunne and Seaborne see them contest another final.

I hope Dunne can win again, she seems promising.

Congrats Katy, what a rise! Definitely one our brightest young talents.

Out of curiosity, who was the last Brit to win back to back junior titles and whats her schedule like in the next few months?
