$64,000 question:  will he now bother getting his act together for Hutch's sake in the doubles? confuse

I am afraid there's obviously so much wrong at the moment, he surely can't just turn it round even if he wants to.

But being out on court with a partner in doubles may be a little easier for him at the moment.

no Seems since he split up with girl friend all the mind problems/motivation have completely done him, at least for now.

According to the press, Andy and Kim are back together again. Much as I hate their private lives being spread all over the press, this was coming up around Miami along with people saying they hoped Andy would be performing better now that he and Kim were back together again.

Personally I'm dubious about what's reported in the press though.

EDIT: Perhaps a more obvious observation is that Andy has been performing badly since his runner up run in the Aussie Open - we all saw that he was affected by that at the time, and afterwards he admit that he was upset and frustrated by his loss there. It doesn't seem like too big a stretch to conclude that one of the factors, possibly one of the biggest factors responsible for his current mental state, is that this loss in Melbourne has really knocked his confidence about his ability to win matches.

Im not sure I would have booed watching that match but it was pretty dire stuff. My kid used to play like that in tournaments and it was just horrendous watching him but at for no.5 in the world to do it is just pathetic if you ask me. If Dnay doesn't want to play then he should take a break as performances like this do nobody any good.

Well MMcL couldn't help him get out of the rut in America, but I am hoping Alex Corretja can do something. Andy was quoted as saying the court seemed too small as he kept on missing it! His serve is a weak point at the moment, but usually he puts pressure on his opponent's serve but it seems that just didn't happen.

He needs to play more competative tennis to get his hunger back again. He was entering as few tournaments as he was able in order to lessen fatigue and the chance of injury. Important when he does so much work in a match. But the way he is playing he isn't on court very long!

I hope so, but it's not the end of the world.

Back in the '95 us open final sampras beat agassi, who took it very badly by all accounts. he slumped to 141 in the rankings and had a 2-month spell when he couldn't win a set. like him, andy has heaps of natural talent, and i'm certain he'll bounce back when he's ready.
