Bautista played his first pro match back in 2002 on his 14th birthday! And won it... He has since gone on and won 8 Futures titles - but all of them in Spain. In the last few months, he has beaten Darcis, Kendrick, Korolev, Levy & Massu.
Walter is a 26yo journeyman who has reached 5 Futures finals in his career, but lost them all.
23yo Capkovic is a weird one : his last Futures have gone - Win, SF, QF, Win, RU - pretty impressive, eh? But over about the same period, he has lost 13 challenger qual + level matches in a row. inc. 4 retirements.
Uzbekistan born 21yo Gleb Sakharov has played nearly all his tennis in French Futures, by far the toughest Futures, hence why his ATP ranking is so under-ranked at 1071. He is ranked 657 in my rankings. Still, it was a huge surprise he beat Goodall.
Does Evans v Smethurst at 60 : 40 sound right? I don't know - I'd have guessed Evo would have been a bigger favourite. We'll have to wait and see... it'll be interesting.
anyone going to be there tomorow?, and evo 13%, if hes almost 10 to 1 to win this tourny and he's in the quarters, what do you think his odds are going to be next week when the cavalry arrives?
Daniel Smethurst (Gbr) bt Daniel Evans (Gbr) 6-1 6-4
For the record, Walter beat Sakharov by the same score, so it takes a Frog to beat a Frog & the Brits may as well not bother turning up when they're drawn against one...!

I'd have guessed that too, but clearly we were wrong - that's a shocker of a result/scoreline!
