Ah, sorry to hear that (how on earth do you know these things?!), that probably does at least partly explain it then.

And then there was one:

(1) Roberto Bautista (ESP) WR 237 defeated (Q) Burnham Arlidge WR 1078 by 4-6 7-5 6-1 cry

Decent fight by Burnham in the first two sets, but he clearly ran out of steam in the third!

A good win for Smethy. 8 points in the bag and maybe more to come.

Does Evans v Smethurst at 60 : 40 sound right?  I don't know - I'd have guessed Evo would have been a bigger favourite.  We'll have to wait and see...  it'll be interesting.

I'd have guessed that too, but clearly we were wrong - that's a shocker of a result/scoreline! confuse

Should've had more faith in my system.  haha.

Updated odds..

F W
Roberto Bautista 75.8% 52.8%
Ludovic Walter 54.7% 21.2%
Dan Smethurst 45.3% 16.0%
Kamil Capkovic 24.2% 10.0%

anyone going to be there tomorow?, and evo 13%, if hes almost 10 to 1 to win this tourny and he's in the quarters, what do you think his odds are going to be next week when the cavalry arrives?

Clearly the cavalry has been to Tipton and Bath before and knows which town it prefers!

*  Here's hoping for an all-Brit final! please.gif

I should've known better:

(1) Josh Goodall & Alex Slabinsky WR 489 lost  to (3) Kamil Capkovic & Andrej Martin (SVK/SVK) WR 970 by 6-1 4-6 [7-10] bleh

Maniel Bains & Marcus Willis WR 1390 lost to (2) Olivier Charroin & Ludovic Walter (FRA/FRA) WR 791 by 2 & 3

The second result is more forgiveable than the first, methinks! nod.gif

Thought Smethurst might have had a chance but bit surprised by the scoreline, then again Evo seems to occasionally lose by unaccountable scores.

Now a very fair chance that Dan S could be GB's no 1 Dan in a few weeks.
