As feared Arguello was too strong, but the 75 points will be good enough to move George into the top 50 on Monday. One more good week here will defend his Nottingham points (where he won singles and doubles last year) and secure his entry for Roland Garros.

To be expected I suppose but the scoreline a tad disappointing.

Very good week for George.

Arguello certainly seems a pretty strong player, 6 months older than George with a senior WR of 675, a futures final and 2 futures semi finals on clay.

So while it would have been obviously great if George could have got closer I would not be too disappointed by the scoreline.

Hopefully George can build further on this in the months to come.
