Unfortunately I don't think CAS would be any part of scapegoating whatever the ITIA'S reasons for appealing and they indicate that they would only have ever done that in cases where they still had big reservations.
Very sad.

Exactly. They clearly felt it was a strong case. It is sad but if she doped, then that was sad as well.

Yep, I feel bad for her but claiming ignorance of the possibility that meat is contaminated in S America just doesn't wash with me. I fail to see how a professional tennis player can be unaware of the risk when there has already been atleast 1 publicised case of a S American Tennis Player returning an adverse result, allegedly from contaminated meat.

Sorry if Im confused , Emmsie. Are you saying you think she ate contaminated meat and was silly / careless to do so and should therefore face the consequences ? Or that the meat story was a cover all along and she doped and should therefore face the consequences?
My instinct now is that it was a cover story and I for one fell into believing it. I was dubious when she went back to play Colombia this season. What was that about? At the time though, I did believe her, mainly because i wanted to.

At the time I think she claimed there was no warnings about the possibility of meat being contaminated (happy to be corrected on this) I suppose it's possible she could have been ignorant but I always found that hard to believe.
I think, if it really was a case that she was silly/careless, she wouldn't be looking a 4 year ban.
She had nandrolone and two anabolic steroids in her system.
From what I read, having just one could be unlucky and through contamination, but all three is strange

Have seen Tara playing for years since she was a teenager. Why she would dope God knows her career has been in free fall for a number of years.
Last time I saw her in Glasgow she looked out of condition for an athlete .Shame I used to love watching her saw her first in Edinburgh at Scottish Championships at Craiglockhart on clay.
