As James said, that first set was pretty hilarious - 5-1 up in games then 6-3 up in the tie-break, with about 7 set points wasted! let's hope he cuts it out next round
(WC) James Duckworth (AUS) v Oliver Golding 3rd match Show Court 3
Don't be fooled by the WC. Duckworth was top 20 at the start of last year, but didn't play for several months after that. In the Australian Wildcard Play-off he beat both Brydan Klein (ranked just outside 200 ATP) and Jason Kubler (top-ranked 1993 boy). So Ollie will need to be on top form to reach the quarters. Given that he made a meal of the match against Sam Barry (according to the ITF he "survived a first-set collapse and a bout of racket smashing to beat Sam Barry of Ireland 67(8) 63 64 in a gruelling match.") he will do very well to recover enough to win tonight.
Doubles QF
Allen/Carpenter v (2) Krawietz/Schulz (GER) 3rd match Court 18
Tom and Jack have exploited their kind draw well. Kevin Krawietz is a very good doubles player (won junior Wimbledon last year, with a French partner), and even though the partnership with Schulz is a new one the Germans should be too strong.
Ollie seemed to get very tentative in that first set with the rallies extending to many shots. I must admit I wasn't aware that Ollie suffered as bad from nerves something he will have to work on. But to comeback and still win was a great effort and as David says a real toughie next.
They swapped breaks again but Ollie eventually lost the first 7-6(8-6). Think he missed a set point in the TB but not sure, hopefully this follows a similar pattern to his last match though.
