Nice win for Robbo 6-3 6-1. This game changed halfway through the first set at 3-3 when Pliskova started serving double faults by the handful. She continued to do so at the start of the second. Robbo then decided to join in the fun by serving 3 in one game to give the early break back but eventhough the double faults stopped Pliskova could hardly win a point on serve. Robbo then cut out out the doubles to take a 4-1 lead. A mammoth game came next when Robbo couldn't convert on her first 4 break points but did so on the fifth. Robbo served it out after this game went to deuce.

Anyway, no sooner do you beat one K Piskova than twin sister K Piskova turns up in the final, the Karolina version.

Karolina beat Hao Chen Tang in 3 sets, in the semi, Hao's run putting more into perspective Heather Watson's 1st round 3 set loss to her when even rusty and feeling very out of touch she still took Hao to 3 sets.

The final will be on RLA tomorrow, following on from the boys final which is scheduled for 1 pm ( 2 am GMT ). Should be a good crowd to support "Aussie Laura". I would guess if not directly on BBC 1 or 2 there must be a fair chance of it being on the red button, but don't know.

Great to see Laura in the final, especially after her schedule this week. Fingers crossed that she and Andy can improve on their Hopman Cup performance and get that final win. What a dream end that would be.

They can't show it, as like last year they are not any cameras in use for the junior matches.

The best chance for coverage is Australian Open radio as they covered the junior finals last year. Radio 5 live have still to confirm whether they will be providing coverage and we're probably talking about 4 a.m as a starting time when most of us should be asleep.
Has anyone noticed the relatively low key coverage Laura's run to the final has been given in the media this year. Whether the fact that Andy run to his final has effected this I don't know.

Yes, Andy's performances a bit but also Laura' own general progress, particularly her performances vs good seniors in the Hopman Cup, and also that she has won and lost previous Grand Slam junior finals.

I think we have the situation of oh, it's just Laura beating juniors again whereas it's Andy with a chance to be the the first mens singles Grand Slam winner for GB in ( to quote Fed's post match interview ) "10,000 squillion years".

I do think it's great to see Laura through to the final, in a 3rd Junior GS final just turned 16 is a really good achievement. But I would suggest it's no great shock to us and as for the media, they have her destined for higher things.

Actually, I think they've given up trying to steal Laura from us, and decided to steal boy's finalist Sean Berman from the USA instead.

HA, ha that's fun article about the AAAA ( Australian Athlete Adoption Agency ). For Berman's qualification criteria see : http://www.theage.com.au/sport/tennis/australian-junior-in-final-20100130-n4eb.html

I doubt they are close to disowning Laura. Losing seems to be one way for the Agency to lose interest and hopefully she's not going to start doing that.

Actually having now properly read the article myself, this sounds more serious.

Has he really done this in-depth analysis of what is his true country and pledged his future to Australia. Has his Mum had a heart to heart talk with him ? What is the true story ? smile
