Yes, both George and James withdrew today in favour of the Grade 1 event in the Czech Republic. Probably pragmatic for James, but disappointing that George has opted out of Australia, as his late season form indeed suggested that he could qualify and win a round or three with a decent draw.

With Lucy also withdrawing we have no-one left in qualifying for either event.

Noting Sutton entries I would suggest that one should take with a pinch of salt what is written on Heather's website. According to her website she is scheduled to stay in Australia to play 2 senior challenger events after the Aussie open. However she is entered for Sutton and was never entered for Burnie. If she is succesful at the Aussie open thats not alot of time to make your way back to England for a Monday start. Of course unless she receives a wildcard.

Laura v Wool**** ( Aussie WC )

Laura not seeded Curovic looks to have come from the clouds to sneek in ahead of her. As a result Laura faces a very difficult match against Paris academy colleague Putinseva in the second round. The Russian reached FQR in Luxembourg last year and also double bagelled Jess as well.

Heather (2) v Tang

Slightly tricky matchup but should be OK. Draw pretty good on the whole after that.

OOP not out yet for 24/1 and no doubles draws as yet.
