Well Steven, ain't that one for the lawyers! No wonder they leave all the ins and outs out of the fan's site. Duckboy? Kolya? Let me guess.... Davydenko is Duckboy and Roddick is Kolya? Or is it the other way around? In any case I am glad someone knows the rules and thanks for explaining them to us.
The downgrading of Monaco was contentious I remember. It seemed to be led by the American "way too early to start our European tour" lobby. The present status was a confusing compromise. I attended Monaco a few years ago. Some great players on view, Moya, Haas, Corretja, Ferrero, Rios, Grosjean and Roddick (yes a yank did make it over!) Can't remember too much about the tennis. I was high up in the sun with a beautiful view of the yachts in the Mediterranean and the skyscrapers of the principality. I just about fell asleep. As Fred Stolle once said, "if you only get to see one tournament make it Monte Carlo, but check it's not raining!"

And yes, I was hoping (somewhat forlornly) that we might end up playing Monaco away in a DC promotion match in September! (it could have happened, except that Monaco were never going to get through R1 ... and as it happened, nor did we )

Yes, a tie against Monaco would've been nice. :( Or Ireland. Or Bulgaria. :(
Good few Yanks at MC last year.
I don't get the chat about Andy's girlfriend. I mean, the press keep reporting it, and I'm really not interested at all in this pointless speculation about Andy's private life. Yeesh.

Andy rod-duck! How couldI forget Steven! It was really funny. I don't like prying into player's private lives either Lady T, but it must affect them if there are big changes going on for good or bad. Andy's on/off relationship with his girlfriend could help explain the dip (plunge?) in form over the last few months. I hope he is now settled and will come roaring back in the crucial months ahead for him.
It's not so much the effect or relevance it has - because it could potentially be a factor in what's going on with Andy right now, sure. What annoys me is that the press keep jumping on every little scrap of info about it and then broadcasting it to all and sundry!
"THEY'RE BROKEN UP!"
"THEY'RE BACK TOGETHER!"
"THEY'RE JUST FRIENDS!"
"THEY'RE DEFINITELY BACK TOGETHER AGAIN!"
Geez. Enough already. Confusing enough if you're in a will-they-won't-they situation, I'm sure neither Andy nor Kim enjoys having it broadcasted in that manner. Ought to be a private matter.

Yes, I agree ... in the early stages of a new (or in this case possibly rekindled) relationship, the last thing you want is for people to be sticking their noses in, so what it must be like to have every step broadcast to the world (with much of it no doubt made up), I dread to think.

Sigh. I don't deny that we could admittedly bring it up as a potential factor in Andy's mental state right now and thus his game, because hey, such things can run round in your head, but my objection is to the constant jumping on any scrap of info by the press and then, as you say steven, broadcasting it to the world.

Certainly, all I have noted on this forum is a few references to it as being a possible reason for his return to very poor body language and with it poorer form that I noted about at ATP Masters at the O2. I didn't care to argue then when it was said that Andy was too professional to let it affect hiim, mainly because of course there was a speculation element. But who knows how an individual will react. He got himself up for the Aussie Open, but seemingly not so longer term,
I am certainly not into endless speculation but when we heve been discussing Andy's form and attitude it is difficult not to mention in some way such a possibly very relevant matter.
As for the press, it is sad but inevitable that they feed on every titbit they think they have got. It indeed must make things so difficult for the individuals involved.

Agreed, I have always considered the possibility that it could be a relevant factor to Andy's mental state. I just dislike the publication of his private life.
