Have most of the best U14 boys internationally been playing in this tournament or have quite a few played in higher ages, as mentioned for the girls, or not here at all ?
I am guessing that it is more the U!6 event that is generally weakened by top players playing in the U18s.

You are right that it is the under 16s which are weakened by top players playing in the under 18s. There was only one 1995 boy directly in the under 16s - and that was our own Clay Crawford. Physical differences mean that it is much harder for boys to compete up than girls.
The highest ITF ranked boy under 14 (ranked just inside 500) was the top seed here, but quite a few strong players, including the Tennis Europe 1,2,3 and 4 opted to miss the event
Great to see one title coming from the various finalists, semi finalists and quarter finalists GB produced over the various boys' and girls' age groups
Edit - er, I typed an emoticon in here, the one for woot, and nothing came up at all. Then I clicked on "More emoticons" to edit it in and the page is completely blank. Who has pinched our emoticons?!!!

I just thought I'd mention that prior to the semi finals I twittered Colette Lewis asking her out of all the British players in action on Saturday who had impressed her the most . She replied subsequent to the finals on Sunday "Bambridge in 14s; won singles and doubles and has a big game. Definitely one to keep an eye on. "
