The ATP apparently intends to "learn lessons" from this year's shambolic round robin stage. Woe betide its "blazers" (nice one, Milo , though it's an epithet that's arguably even better, er, suited to the incompetent clowns in charge of the LTA! ), though, if they turn to Gareth Southgate for a few tips...
That is absolutely pathetic. they had loads of time before and even during the match to have double, triple, quadruple checked everythiug that needed checked ( in truth they should have had sonmething like Steven had the different scemnarios lined up and carefully checked and agreed even before the players stepped out on court ). Yes, there were a few ruddy calculations but it wasn't exactly rocket science !!
Thanks SC - but "blazers" was OEM's nice turn of phrase!
Now that Del Potro's through to the final I guess that confirms Andy at no 5 for the AO draw. I suppose if Del Potro goes on to win - having lost only to Andy it may be a crumb of comfort.
I'm sure others know the numbers better than me but I fear that having had a great start to '09 it will take something special for Andy to get back into the top 4 before Wimbledon - maybe that is no bad thing.
Yes, the problems really come in small RRs / leagues where there is much more chance of anomalies ( or much less chance of being able to fix things allegedly or otherwise ).
Of course if you're Arsene Wenger, things never balance out, Arsenal never deserve to lose and it's all sooo unfair
