Hard, which improves the chances for most of our lads. The two with arguably the toughest tests are Lewis, who is up against the player who beat Andrew Bettles in the Junior Davis Cup semis, and Richard, who plays a Kiwi who won three consecutive tournaments during the summer.
R1 (L64) (15) Brandon Burke (JAM) beat Andrew Bettles 6-1, 6-4 Juan Sebastian Gomez (COL) beat (8) Oliver Golding 6-4, 6-2 Tom Farquharson beat (WC) Victor Gonzalez (MEX) 6-3, 6-4 Liam Broady beat Michael Zhu (USA) 6-1, 6-3 Ashley Hewitt beat Nikolai Haessig (CAN) 6-4, 7-5 James Marsalek beat Marco Aurei Nunez (MEX) 6-3, 6-0 Lewis Burton v (9) Mick Lescure (FRA) Richard Gabb v Jaden Grinter (NZL)

Good to see Ashley maintaining his form from the recent Spanish Futures. Tom has a tough match ahead against someone who has made a couple of Grade 1 finals in the US (winning one) already this year. We need one of the boys at least to come through to the quarters and claim big points.
Richard has done very well to come through a tough section to make it 4 in round 3, and his reward is a crack at the strong American second seed
